individualism for the masses

Father of Benjamin, husband of Nathalie, BK Marcus works from Charlottesville, Virginia, as managing editor of Mises.org.

He is no longer a house husband, nor a faculty spouse, but he is a homeschooling father, which is much cooler.

"It is no crime to be ignorant of economics, which is, after all, a specialized discipline and one that most people consider to be a 'dismal science.' But it is totally irresponsible to have a loud and vociferous opinion on economic subjects while remaining in this state of ignorance."

BlackCrayon manqué

January 7th, 2007 by bkmarcus

Man oh man, do I love PHP. I wish I’d made the move a few years ago. Anyway, BlackCrayon is back up, except for the “market” (which is really just a bunch of book reviews tied together by Amazon web services). And the truth is that the market section has been falling apart for years now, so it needed an overhaul even before the move.

I could still use some help from anyone familiar with XML DOM or Amazon WS, but at least the main content is restored.

I really recommend XML/XSL, by the way. It’s a great way to keep your content well structured and completely separated from presentation. That’s one part of my initial implementation of the website that I’m still thoroughly pleased with.

I knew you’d come around to PHP eventually. :)
