a civilized critic

I wish all my critics were as civilized as this guy:
Subject: On Your Thanksgiving Post
I mean this with all due respect but perhaps you should read a bit more on both capitalism and communism before you attempt to analyze either theory. At this time, according to Marx’s analysis of historical stages, capitalism had not yet emerged as a product of the industrial revolution. Instead, a form of feudalism was still being practiced.
Socialism, much less communism cannot simply emerge without capitalism because capitalism doesn’t emerge until the bourgeois overthrows the feudal aristocracy in a liberal democratic revolution. At the time, this had not occurred and while markets did indeed exist, private property (not the same as personal property, mind you) had not been established.
Class is what defines political and economic ideologies, not so much the actual practice. I advise you to read even the Communist Manifesto for a better understanding of both systems. Whether it changes your mind or not, you will undoubtedly be more apt at debating.
Cheers.

I’m not sure if he’s referring to the 2006 Thanksgiving post (or its follow-up) or to 2005’s or to 2004’s …
