individualism for the masses

BK Marcus is an amateur political economist with no formal education in the subject.

He works from Charlottesville, Virginia, as an editorial consultant for the Ludwig von Mises Institute.

He is no longer a house husband, nor a faculty spouse, but he is still a dilettante, and a layabout, at least in spirit.

"It is no crime to be ignorant of economics, which is, after all, a specialized discipline and one that most people consider to be a 'dismal science.' But it is totally irresponsible to have a loud and vociferous opinion on economic subjects while remaining in this state of ignorance."

Are we the Illuminati?

August 8th, 2007 by bkmarcus

From iceberg:

Oddly enough, Austria is the latinized name for Ö–sterreich, deriving from the Old German term meaning "eastern realm". Similarly, the term "Orient" refers to lands located eastwards towards the direction of the rising sun, while "Occident" refers to the western world, the direction in which the sun sets.

In this light one can view Aleister Crowley and the Ordo Templi Orientis as allies against the Bavarian conspiracy, to help counter the influence of the German Historical School, the legacy of which today lives on in the mainstream endorsement of empiricist foundations for economic studies, the emblem of which brazenly displayed on every federal [fractional] reserve note of one monetary unit, originally named for a Bohemian valley, once the standard for money of good reputation.

The German Historical school, as wikipedia describes them, "...rejected the universal validity of economic theorems. They saw economics as resulting from careful empirical and historical analysis instead of from logic and mathematics... Most members of the school were also Kathedersozialisten, i.e. concerned with social reform et. al."

In other words, they share the goals of the Illuminati, a conspiracy to control, or "scientifically plan" as they call it, the destiny of mankind.

On the other hand, the Ordo Templi Orientis represent those whose "central religious and organizational principle" is “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the law, love under will” which falls more in line with the Austrian model of subjectivism and methodological individualism.

One thing though, and going back on Hayek's personal life- although he started off in Vienna, he ended up in Freiburg, on the western side of Germany- maybe the mainstream acclaimation is what led him over to the

It appears that my last comment was somehow and abruptly truncated. The last sentence should read as follows:

"...maybe the mainstream acclaimation is what led him over to the dark side, so to speak."

Perhaps this quote will put things in perspective... ;)

"I always define the Power Elite as myself and my friends."
