if you've done nothing wrong

A neural comrade pointed me to this video by the Pet Shop Boys.
I was surprised by its message. I'm glad someone with an audience is speaking out against ID cards and the whole if-you've-done-nothing-wrong mentality.
Here are the lyrics:
If you've done nothing wrong
You've got nothing to fear
If you've something to hide
You shouldn't even be hereLong live us
The persuaded we
Integral
Collectively
To the whole project
It's brand new
Conceived solely
To protect youOne world
One reason
Unchanging
One seasonIf you've done nothing wrong
You've got nothing to fear
If you've something to hide
You shouldn't even be here
You've had your chance
Now we've got the mandate
If you've changed your mind
I'm afraid it's too late
We're concerned
You're a threat
You're not integral
To the projectSterile
Immaculate
Rational
PerfectEveryone has
Their own number
In the system that
We operate under
We're moving to
A situation
Where your lives exist
As information
One world
One life
One chance
One reason
All under
One sky
Unchanging
One seasonIf you've done nothing wrong
You've got nothing to fear
If you've something to hide
You shouldn't even be here
You've had your chance
Now we've got the mandate
If you've changed your mind
I'm afraid it's too late
We're concerned
You're a threat
You're not integral
To the projectSterile
Immaculate
Rational
Perfect

I am Joe's howling despair.
In response to my previous post, Don't talk to the police. Ever., there are those who have something like this to say:
If you have nothing to hide [from the police] than[sic] why not just talk openly?
Does that sound familiar? Let's just cast...
